Dr. Robert Habeck, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, visited us

Jena-Optronik had the great honor of giving insight into the future of space to a special guest: Dr. Robert Habeck, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, visited us!

Our #teamspace highly appreciated to present and exchange on our current products and on-going developments with the Minister and the Federal Ministry responsible for space. With respect to the German ESA presidency, focus was on the key aspects of Earth observation (climate and environmental protection), sustainability and human spaceflight:

  • In the frame of the European Copernicus Program our space optics and electronics help to better research and understand the environmental impacts to which our planet is exposed.
  • Sensors and cameras from Jena-Optronik support modern space applications from exploration, communication to navigation and thus significantly improve our everyday lives.
  • To ensure sustainability in space e.g by lifetime extension of satellites and elimination of  space debris our star trackers and rendezvous- and docking sensors are part of international space missions and concepts.

The visit took place as part of the Digital Summit 2023 in Jena. Digitalization and artificial intelligence are major topics of our time with far-reaching interfaces in all industries. Thus, both offer promising solutions for the challenges of modern space applications. As an internationally successful space company located in the "Optical Valley", we strongly benefit from this.
